Children's Education
Sunday School
For all children 3 years old through 5th grade.
Sunday School will take place in-between worship services. We will gather from 9:00am - 9:45am for music, bible stories, crafts, and fun! Please register using the link below this article. Contact Laura Albert for more information.
First Communion
First Communion Instruction is offered to all students in first grade or above. Upcoming available dates will be in Fall 2024. Contact Pastor Zak for more information.

Youth Education

Middle School/Confirmation Instruction is for youth in grades 6 - 8th grade. Classes are held Sunday mornings, between morning worship services, from 9:00am - 9:45am. Confirmation is a three-year study of the Old Testament, New Testament and Lutheran doctrine. We are currently using the Re:form curriculum. Contact for more information.
Special Events: A variety of service and social activities are scheduled throughout the year; Feed My Starving Children & the Outreach House, Lombard. Each summer, the group goes on a 3-day service trip working with Service Learning Camps.
High School
High School is open to all youth in 9th - 12th grades. Our focus is holistic in nature; a balance of spiritual, mental, physical & emotional growth—building relationships & friendships as we learn about our faith; participating together as we put our faith into action. All are welcome!
“Expresso Yourself”—Join in the conversation every Monday evening, 7:00pm – 8:30pm. We meet at Starbucks on Roosevelt Road (near Sonic) to talk about our week, ideas and future planning. Contact for more information.
“Digging Deeper” meets every Sunday, 9:00am – 9:45am, September – May, to catch up on our week and to discuss the weekly scripture readings for worship. All are welcome!
Typical activities are Feed My Starving Children, volunteering at the Outreach House, Escape Rooms, Enchanted Castle Lock-ins, Trivia Nights, Murder Mystery Dinners, Brunch with the Pastor, serving Simple Suppers and much more!
Annual Summer Road Trips! Open to Youth in 9th-12th Grade!
Year One is the ELCA Youth Gathering, held in a metropolitan city. Summer 2024 is in New Orleans! Year Two is a five-day camping and canoeing trip into the beautiful Minnesota Boundary Waters. Year Three: A five-day service trip with Habitat for Humanity or Service Learning Camps.
