Our Story

Loved by God, we grow, care, give, and share in Jesus’ name.

Welcome to St. Paul Lutheran Church! Community stands at the center of our identity. We gather regularly around water and word that we may be prepared to serve the larger world community in which we live. Our mission is to be honest and genuine in the way that we experience and share Christ's love, both inside and outside of our walls. Traditions help to inform our identity, but do not define who we are, as we seek to engage the ever-changing world around us. All are invited to be a part of this unique community of imperfect people who seek to know and share God's perfect love and grace in Christ.

Land Acknowledgement

St. Paul Lutheran Church is located on the ancestral homelands of many native peoples, including the Kickapoo, Kakaskia, Ho-Chunk, Miami, Peoria, and Potawatomi peoples. With gratitude, we honor the land and the untold generations of its indigenous caretakers. Under their stewardship, the rivers ran clean, the air was pure, and the land thrived.

As a congregation, we acknowledge the presence and contributions of Native communities today, and commit ourselves to an ongoing collaboration to better understand Native American history, work for justice and reconciliation, and to become stronger stewards of creation.
