In the works

Posted by Pr. Zak Wagner on

It has been nearly a year since the beginning of construction at St. Paul. The joy of the past months has been gathering together in our new (and somehow the same) spaces with new (and many of the same) faces! In many ways the work within our church is entering into a new and exciting phase as we move from framing walls to building ministries. In the coming weeks and months there will be plenty of opportunities for you to get involved in the life of those ministries. In the meantime we will see the work on our physical building slow down a bit as we await the arrival of the new ceiling trusses for the North Wing in the coming wing. Once those arrive we'll kick construction back into high gear for a few more months until that work is complete.

However, we have been getting lots of questions about our parking lot. When the weather warms up, this final section will be paved and striped for more parking spaces; we just ran out of time in the fall to get it all done! And turns out that April showers are very beneficial in identifying the low spots, so we can get those leveled out and addressed at the same time. Work is also underway at the parsonage at 536 Cornell, which has a brand new second story. Anticipated completion will take 6-8 months.

All that being said, it is a good reminder for us today that the work of the church and our congregation (namely to "Grow, Care, Give and Share" in Jesus' name") is never complete. The construction blog will take a temporary hiatus until work really picks up again, but we'll continue to post updates as we have them!
