Hallelujah!
Hallelujah! This week the organ pipes were unwrapped, which means we will soon be able to once again hear the sweet dulcet tones emanate from this beloved instrument! The organ was carefully wrapped top to bottom (and inside and out!) to protect from construction dust, so after one more final clean by an organ professional it will be back in action. That's definitely something to celebrate! Other great news is that the cabinetry in the Sacristy is complete, so the Altar Guild will be moving back into that space in the weeks ahead. The columns on the front porch have gotten a fresh coat of white paint, new security access door control hardware has been installed (but not operational yet), and demolition continues in the North Wing. There is a structural concern with some of the existing roof trusses in that area, but our construction crew and architect are working together to find an acceptable solution to the issue. It's exciting to watch our building come back together, piece by piece.
